If too much electricity is used at once, the breaker may trip, causing a power outage. In some cased power may be restored immediately, so please check the following at the distribution board.
- Ampere breaker (leftmost when facing the distribution board): If it is set to "off," reduce the number of electrical appliances used at one time and set it to "on." *If you would like to use more electrical appliances at one time, please consider applying for an ampere change.
- If an ampere breaker is not installed: A feature of smart meters is that if the contracted ampere is exceeded and a power outage occurs, it has a mechanism to automatically restore power. Therefore, there may be an incident where the electricity goes off for a moment and then comes back on. If this occurs repeatedly, reduce the number of electrical appliances used at one time. *If you would like to use more electrical appliances at one time, please consider applying for an ampere change.
- Circuit breaker (multiple small switches lined up on the distribution board): If any of the switches are set to "off," reduce the number of electrical appliances used in that location and set it to "on."
- Earth leakage circuit breaker (located between the ampere breaker and the wiring circuit breaker): If it is "off," turn off all the wiring circuit breakers, then turn on the earth leakage circuit breaker, and turn on the wiring circuit breakers one by one.
*Please note that before operating the circuit breaker, unplug any equipment that you suspect may be causing the problem (and dry it if it is wet). If there is a problem with electrical equipment or indoor wiring, a safety circuit breaker such as an earth leakage circuit breaker may be activated.
*If operating the distribution board does not resolve the issue, contact a general electricity transmission and distribution company.
